CNN's cable network has indicted the American president's administration, Donald Trump, due to the removal of the company's credentials to White House journalist Jim Acosta, claiming to have violated the constitutional right to press freedom.
“We have asked the court that through an immediate order journalist Jim Acsta returns and we have requested permanent release within this process”, he has announced. CNN on 13 November.
The White House suspends the approach of CNN's journalist.
If the indictment is specific for CNN and Acostan, this could have happened to anyone. If they remain unaffirmed, the White House steps would create a dangerous effect on any journalist covering our elected officials “, this network has said.
Trump has repeatedly criticised the American media, sometimes naming some of them as enemies of the American people”, targeting CNN and Acstan with direct verbal attacks.
Acosta on the other hand has often challenged the American president during media conferences.
The White House suspended the credentials after he and Trump had a severe verbal confrontation during the conference following the election held for the American Congress on November 7th.
White House Media Secretary Sarah Sanders has argued the White House's decision against the journalist, saying that Acosta “has put his hands on a young woman who has been doing her job as intern” and has named her works “totally unacceptable”.
Acosta said afterwards through a Twitter post that Sanders's claims are lies.
