Kosovo oven owners made good use of the Government's decision to impose a 10 per cent tax on products coming from Serbia, costing the price of bread from 30 cents to 40 cents already being done. But this rise is not expected to cheer for long, as the Market Inspectorate, operating within the MTI, has begun monitoring prices on the market and hopes for the previous return of the price of bread.
Placing a 10 per cent tax on products coming from the Serbian state and Bosnia has served Kosovo oven owners to benefit from their business by raising the price of bread.
This hike is not expected to live even long after MTI head Andrew Shala is warning of eliminating this agreement he prefers to call secret “”.
In a statement given to the newspaper “Voice”, Minister Shala has denied claims that raising the price of bread has been made as a result of tax imposing.
According to him, if the price hike was to be done in proportion to the tax setting, then the price of bread would have to increase by just 10 percent from 30 cents to 33 cents, not by 40 cents as it has currently grown.
