Republic of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci in an interview for Kosovo AFP, it has said that “We will work together to define the borders, as we have done with Macedonia and with Montenegro, but there will be no borders based on ethnic lines”.
The head of the country has said that Kosovo will remain multiethnic, and that thanks to this agreement the region will be safer.
Kosovo will remain multiethnic, as will Serbia, the population will not be displaced. The regime will be safer thanks to this” agreement, he said.
Speaking of the last meeting held in Brussels, he has said the meeting was difficult, but important for the final phase of normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
I think now is the right moment and the right leadership for reaching the” agreement. And such an agreement should be about “the mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia (a) legally binding agreement, an opportunity for Kosovo to join the UN because Russia would withdraw veto at the Security Council”, the president has said.
The first of Kosovo, speaking of the founding of the Kosovo Armed Forces, has said that Kosovo's “Armed Forces will be created. This is an agreement made” and that by him “Everything we do will be constitutional and legal, it will be a gradual process, co-ordinated with our NATO and US partners”.
