The meeting between Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Serbia's Aleksandar Vuciq took place in Brussels on Thursday evening, even though there was speculation that it might not come to that meeting because of Serbia's frustration with the Kosovo government's decision to impose taxes on goods imported from Serbia.
But even though it happened, the meeting was shorter than expected, Time Ditore writes today.
As usual, the dialogue facilitator, EU high representative Federica Moghrini, first had bilateral meetings, first with the president of Kosovo and then with Serbia, to continue at a not-so-long meeting with the two presidents together.
But after the two presidents' meeting, Vuciqi said that the continuation of the dialogue depends on “the Albanian subx1>, which “is not implementing any agreement that has signed”, criticising Kosovo for violating the CEFTA Agreement with the introduction of a 10 per cent tax on goods imported from Serbia, as well as on what he called “the threat to northern Serbs<5>, thinking in Prime Minister Haradinaj's statement to deploy one of the army to the north as well as to Kosovo.
