Rama: Army won't have tanks, 71 Serb community soldiers have been evacuated so far

Even though he has said it is early to talk about the weapon the Army will have after the formation, General Rama has said the problem with arms is the popular outlook as an army equipped with heavy weapons.

It's a question that's a little early to declare, but I'm sure after the political decision, you'll be notified in time. Open days [for citizens] will happen in the future. Our doors are open to citizens every day. We've been transparent and we'll continue to be like that because we have nothing to hide. We are obliged to render an account to citizens, except for institutions. I have to report and give responsibility for developments that happen”, Rama said.

The biggest problem is our mentality. The global security strategy has changed. I can say we don't have tanks. We are a small country while our goal is to be part of NATO. When you are part of NATO is different”, he said.

Rama says 71 Serb community soldiers left

Asked about the removal of Serb community members from the KSF, Rama has said that so far it has signed the removal of 71 soldiers of this community while blaming Serbia for the pressure it is putting on them.

I also enjoy a fact that, based on their demands for demobilization, we haven't had words for bad treatment, and I'm glad they've been treated well. The current and real number is 71 out of KSF. Half of the Serb members have left. They have certainly turned away from personal and family pressures. They have been stopped at the border, offered money and received salaries only to leave the KSF. Even the remaining soldiers continue to have systematic pressure”, Rama has said.
