Former Minister of Trade and Industry Mimoza Kusari '% Lila expresses confident that Serbia will not feel any effect over the 10 per cent tax imposed yesterday by the Kosovo government.
In a media proposal, Kusari finished declaring that through this decision, the Government of Kosovo has failed to pressure the Republic of Serbia and the obstacles it causes our country.
It considers that so far there has been a noise, which, as it says, has prompted EU institutions to react. And for that, she says the Government of Kosovo must review the decision, change it and completely close the border for Serbian goods, regardless of their origin.
Kusari-Lila: Government completely shuts down border for goods imported from Serbia
The government's goal, which in one way or another, will not reach for the future, to show Serbia or to be re-vanned for all diplomatic offensive against Kosovo that made and obstacles in implementing the agreements reached so far. The government must review the decision, change it completely, and if it will have any effect, close the entire limit for products for Serbian goods, except for the origin of capital, are the foreign or Serbian companies producing in Serbia”, she said.
She says that with this decision, the Government of Kosovo has made two mistakes, which more will cost citizens.
Kusari Lil: The government has made two big mistakes with this decision
This tax can actually easily be billed to citizens. So for a 2 euro product, selling 2.2 euros will not be noticed by citizens who will pay 10 per cent. Also, foreign companies' products, which are produced in Serbia, have been excluded from the measure. This too is wrong because it does not differentiate products of origin from where they are produced and not what the capital is which has been invested. And in this way, there is no pressure on the Government of Serbia from foreign companies operating in Serbia for this measure because those products are disfellowshipped”, she said.
Kusari-Lila voiced confidence that Brussels would pressure the removal of this tax, while adding that Kosovo should also link the removal of this move to any condition.
We remember that at the time of the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mimoza Kusari Elsa, had decided to impose reciprocity measures on Serbia's goods.
