This has already been confirmed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The communique says:
Trade and Industry Minister Andrew Shala has proposed changing the move from 10, to 100 percent for products coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Shala at the Government meeting has reasoned on the decision, giving reasons to make the decision.
Shala has said that after an analysis was made by the Department of Commerce, such a proposal has come.
This is Minister Shala's full proposal:
By taking on professional analysis of the MTI Department of Commerce, let me propose this decision and ask for your approval at this government meeting. As you know Kosovo producers face various non-tariforous barriers in Serbia, whose products cannot enter Serbia's market. Serbian authorities do not recognise the analyses of Kosovo importers, and they also require re-evaluation of Kosovo goods.
Furthermore, the tranche issue still remains a very serious obstacle for Kosovo companies, while importing through EU countries and passing through Serbian territory. As for trade barriers with Bosnia are the same as those with Serbia. Trade exchanges between Kosovo and Bosnia clearly show that imports are growing steadily compared to exports. Moreover, there is a large asymmetry in public bids, where Kosovo companies cannot legally compete in public bids in Serbia. On the other hand, there are more than 100 public bids that Serbian companies have won in Kosovo. There are many other problems. Kosovo cannot develop its transport industry and lose hundreds of jobs, because Kosovo trucks are not allowed to use Serbia as a transitor country to the EU market.
Moreover, these problems only increase when we add to the problems we have political with these two states. The Kosovo government, but we as ministers are committed to working daily on improving reports with all neighbours, regardless of where, but these reports and relations cannot improve when the Republic of Kosovo is not treated as a state and equally. Nobody can ask me to sell their products on our market and stop our products from selling on their market. This is a mutual relationship that we insist on respecting. Based on what I said earlier, Your Honor, I ask you to approve the proposal you've been taking on time. Thank you.
