Despite the state's seeking extradition, Orban stands up for Gruevski, saying he has helped Hungary during the refugee influx. According to Orban, it would have been almost impossible to protect Hungary's borders without Gruevski's help.

In an interview for Hungarian radio to Kostunica, Orban said Gruevski is an ally and friend of all of Hungary's people.
