Azerbaijani coach Gurban Gurbanov has elevated Kosovo's national team, saying it has only good words for it, as Kosovo defeated Azerbaijan 4-0 by securing first place in Group 3 of League D, in the League of Nations on Tuesday in Pristina.

Last night's triumph provides Kosovo a country in the semi-finals of the D League on another, easier, to qualify for the 2020 European Championships, as well as promotion at a higher level of U's C league of the inaugural race EFA, League of Nations, reports Express.

Arber Zenel's Hetrik and Amir Candman's goal sank Azerbaijan into a confrontation seen as the grand finale on paper, but turned out to be the easy and convincing victory of “Dadians”.

Gurbanov has said he cannot criticise his players because they played against a very strong opponent, such as Kosovo.

“Congratulations on Kosovo's national team for a deserved victory. I knew the power of the opponent, but we came here willing to win. We had to win. The goal accepted in the first few minutes was a blow to our players. Almost every blow of them ended with a goal”.

I won't criticize the players. We've come a long way together. Everyone wanted victory. But today we have learned the true power of an opponent. I can only say good words for Kosovo. I don't want to associate loss with nothing. Kosovo was stronger than in”.

“I've said many times that we need to improve our championship, increase the players' potential. Now it's hard to say what lies ahead. I won't be able to answer that question for a while, said Gurbanov.
