48-year prison participants in police killing Shemsy Gashi

The trial panel led by Judge Valbona Musliu-Selimaj, as well as the other two members -- Judge Becir Kaluldra of Kujtim Krasniqi -- after the retrial of this case have declared the indictment by which accused Ramadan Gashi has been sentenced to prison for 25 years.

Wessel Djindovci has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

To five years in prison, Kujtim Bayqi, Vesel Bunnjak was sentenced to five and a half years while Adonis Gashi was sentenced to 5 years and 10 months in prison.

And Agron Gashi's muja has been freed from the indictment.

In July of this year, the Court of Appeals had turned the case into retrial.

According to the Court of Appeals, there has been a contradiction between what is stated in the indictment and statements given by witnesses

The Constitutional Court in Pristina had pronounced 58 years in prison for the murder of police sergeant Shemsi Gashi, while one of the accused Agron Gashi had declared him innocent, KALLXO.com reports.

The first time accused Vesel Djindovci had been sentenced to nine and a half years in prison on charges of serious murder, as well as unlicensed weapons, Mejm Bayqi had been sentenced to six years in prison, Ramadan Gashi, accused of inciting serious murder, and illegal arms had been sentenced to 25 years, Muj Gashi had been sentenced to 3 years in prison for illegal weapons prosecution, Robert Gashi for criminal work without permission for failing to declare criminal work was sentenced to 3 years in prison, the same was released from criminal acts of illegal weapons without permission.

The foundation court, Vesel Bunjak, had pronounced the sentence to 7 years and 6 months in prison, while Adonis Gashi was sentenced to 4 years in prison.

In contrast to accused Agron Gashi, the Constitutional Court in Pristina had received a free trial.

However, after reviewing complaints by defenders of both the accused and the prosecutor, the Court of Appeals had made a decision that because of violations which are said to have been filed in the Pristina Constitutional Court's act, the case would be turned into retrial.

Economic crimes police superior Shemsi Gashi was killed on March 25th 2015 in Pristina's “Matti” neighbourhood, while for his murder the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina accused eight people.

Ramadan Gashi, Muja Gashi, Agron Gashi, Adonis Gashi, Robert Gashi and Vesel Bnjaku are accused of planning Shemsi Gashi's murder, while Vesel Djindovci and Kujim Beqi was charged in his murder.

In the indictment it is known that for Gashi's murder, Vesel Djindovci and Mejim Beyqi were promised 5 thousand euros.

The indictment reveals that Gashi's house had been attacked a month before his assassination, but the sergeant had not announced the attack to the police because he wanted private problems to keep him from official duty.

During the trial review, Vesel Djindovci had pleaded guilty, but the Court has declined to plead guilty to the accused.
