The UN calls on the military coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, to prevent air strikes that are killing civilians and contributing to what the UN says could become the world's worst “ure for 100 years”.
Yemen's civil war began three years ago, when Iran-backed rebels Houth took control of most of the country, including the capital Sana.
Saudi Arabia, backed by the US, Great Britain and France, is using air strikes and a blockade in support of the internationally recognised government.
At least 10,000 people have been killed in the conflict and millions have been displaced from their settlements.
The UN's <x0). said Lise Grande, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen.
Under international humanitarian law, parties in conflict are obliged to respect the principles of preliminary measures and proportionism“, Grande said. “Warmakers must do everything possible to protect civilians from being hurt, disabled, injured or killed”, she added.
