CNN has received exclusive footage of surveillance cameras, part of the Turkish government's investigation, where it appears the man leaving the Saudi consulate from the back door wearing journalist's clothes, a fake beard and glasses.
The same person was seen in Khashoggi's dress, according to the Turkish official, in the world-renowned Blue Mosque several hours after the journalist was last seen entering the consulate on October 2nd.
The man in the video, identified by the official as Mustafa al-Madani, is said to be part of what investigators say is a murder team sent to kill the journalist during a scheduled meeting to receive letters for his next wedding.
Madan, 57, is the sixth nearly the same as the late journalist and was used as fraud, according to the Turkish official.
Saudi Arabia denied for days of murder, but after weeks said the journalist was killed in the Istanbul consulate, stressing that his death was the result of a coup.
A Saudi source near the royal palace later told CNN that “Washington Post” journalist died in a physical clash. On Sunday, Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir went further, describing Khahoggi's death on Fox News as a “Murder” and a “outstanding error“. He also said “don't know where the body is.
We are determined to discover every stone, we are determined to reveal all the facts, and we are determined to punish those responsible for this murder”, He said in the interview.
