The air you breathe in Europe can be lethal to you. In fact, polluted air is causing some 400,000 premature deaths annually in Europe.
In addition, there are health - spending consequences that can total up to billions of euros.
The weak quality of air in advanced countries as in European states is a hidden health crisis, which has resulted from several factors, and has now turned into the continent's biggest environmental challenge, Kosovo passes. The European Court of auditors reports that human health is not yet protected from this danger.
The air quality standards in Europe have been set for 20 years. However, they have not yet been implemented by all countries across Europe. What is viewed as fresh air in Poland is seen as an unacceptable state in Belgium. Perhaps the worst is that even when these standards apply, European air standards are much lower than those recommended by the World Health Organization.
According to this organization, about 2 million people die worldwide each year because of air pollution.
The quality of air in London is so bad right now, so bad that at the end of January 2018, the city has only reached the limit of pollution year - round. More action is being required in Europe for this problem, but this seems to be remaining a major challenge, both for politics and for individuals.
