Today it is 14 years from the accident in Albania's Fushesh Arena, where 15 seniors died from Malisheva who were returning from an explosion. Family members and survivors of the accident confess to the event while showing that they are disappointed with the treatment they receive from state institutions.
In the Suka family in Banja, Malisheva, there were only births and no deaths for 50 years. This changed in 2004, when the youngest man in the family lost his life tragically.
Berat Suka had gone to the field trip that school organized, and on the way back, the bus she was on, hit a car that caused the throwing of the bus into the abyss.
14 years later, Berat is reminded of the greatest pain he lost at the age of 18.
His father, Osman Suka, relates about the time he received the news on October 14, 2004.
He says that once he heard about the accident, his mind had gone to the boy and he was on his way to Albania.
The bus of the high school “Abdyl Frasher” was full, 51 persons inside, of them 15 students did not cope with injuries and lost their lives. All the dead were men.
Meanwhile, injuries took all the others, including professors and bus driver. The latter, as the survivors of the accident show, has never driven a bus since then.
Today, 14 years after the accident, Berat Suka's father recalls every sentence he had exchanged with his son before his departure for Albania.
Professor Zeqe Kastrati, then a 124-grader, tries to tell the story, but admits it's very difficult to remember students and talk to their parents.
Kosovo students had gone to visit Albania for the first time. For this, the old road, especially for the bus, had to be passed.
Bajram Thaci is one of the survivors of the accident.
Today, he says that it is very difficult to go and place flowers near the graves of his friends.
After this accident, the high school library was named “15 seniors”.
Family survivors of the accident and high school students, today named “Hamdi Berisha”, are organized and homazhe at the cemetery on October 14th. A memorial tablet is also placed there.
However, family members and survivors of the accident are disappointed today with the treatment of the State.
There are some survivors who still need medical treatment because they have serious health problems.
They are not satisfied with the contents of the graves.
The men were killed on October 14, 2004, until they were returning to Kosovo from a trip to Albania.
Family members and survivors today will head to the cemetery in Malisheva at 2: 00 p.m. when the accident is thought to have occurred.
