Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that official Moscow has no specific goal for Southeast European countries.
He says Russia's co-operation with Serbia does not have any specific claim, except for traditions and some other things that unites, broadcasts Indexline.
“Balkan states are traditional and close friends of Russia, some of whom share the same religion”, the Russian top diplomat said.
However, Russia has repeatedly called for the West not to recognise Kosovo's expected independence.
According to them, Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence would be followed by a chain of separatist movements elsewhere in Europe. Minister Lavrov had declared that such a step would also harm the United Nations.
