Russian President Vladimir Putin, known for his love of nature and his commitment to Christianity, was introduced to Lake Seliger in northern Moscow on the evening of 18-19 January, commemorating the baptism of Jesus Christ on the Jordan River that took place more than two thousand years ago, reports “Sputnik International” Transmission Periscope.

The Russian president walked into the pool with a woolen coat, asking reporters if they felt cold and then released into the cold waters of the lake blessed by the Russian clergy.
