About 1500 people have been evacuated from their homes in the Paris region with authorities on alert for flood danger, as the water level on the river of Sena continued to rise on Sunday.
Paris police officials said about 1,500 people had fled their homes in the Ile de France region, which includes the French capital and its suburbs.
The water level on the river of Sena will reach Monday morning at levels similar to those that led to large floods in 2016, transforming part of the city similar to Venice. The water that has come out of Sena's bed has already covered promenades along the river in Paris and has forced the famous Luvru level to close an exhibition of Islamic art on its zero floor.
