Six bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) have asked Sinody to appoint the SPC Parliament so that the church can declare and take a unique stance on resolving the Kosovo issue, writes Belgrade daily “Blic”, citing sources from Patrickana, broadcasting Koha.net.
The Kosovo issue is entering its final phase and it is imperative that the church be determined against developments. The church has to say with one mouth what the limit is as far as we're going, to publicize the position of the church assembly in the situation of the people and the state, this newspaper quoted one of the bishops.
He has indicated that this is indeed a historic moment and that he needs such a historic church stance on the larger issue, which will become known to people and the state.
It is stressed that holding the Assembly is neither for nor against President Vuciq, and that it would be wrong to interpret it like that, concludes “Blic”.
