The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Irinej, has congratulated Orthodox Christmas, citing Kosovo. Recalling its history, which he calls Serbian and Serbia's Jerusalem, broadcasts time.net.
In this wish, the head of the Serbian church, makes no mention of the Albanian majority living for centuries and in front of Serbs in these areas, while having invited its followers to bear more children to ask them to become “with the people who preserve and defend Kosovo”.
Kosovo and Metohia are our Jerusalem, our holy place, to become one with the people we're guarding and protecting”, has said Irinej at the Orthodox Christmas wish, adding that “nothing we need neither state nor economic progress if we die more than we were born, because we're going to disappear as a people”, following the south of the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
“I invite the faithful to be one of the many Serb Orthodox people who faithfully preserve and defend every corner of Kosovo's holy place, Er Metohija, whom, if we forget, has forever been granted to Mr.”, Irinej has said.
He has added that <x0) stormy times have come and gone, but during all these times, our fathers in their hearts have carried Peja Patriot, Gracanica, Levichka Vigera, Banjska, Deccanin. The Holy Arcandangelians and thousands of saints and altars occupied all of Kosovo”.
According to the patriarch's words, our “fathers know who since the 7th century grew up in that holy place, who opened the first schools in the monasteries, who wrote books, who created the reins and icons, who opened the first hospitals, who wrote the Slavic books”.
We know that in Kosovo our people have remained suffering to show their martyrdom to the Church and the Holy Orthodox religion to brave their Serbian name”, Irinej has said, paraphrasing David's words about Jerusalem “if I forget you Kosovo, forget my right hand”
