The European Commission estimates that Serbia, which has 12 open chapters, is making good progress on the European road and wants this trend to continue even this year, has been told Serbian news agency in the Commission headquarters.
“The EU is committed to maintaining such a moment as well as opening several new chapters with Serbia in 2018. It is up to Serbia to determine the speed of negotiations, primarily by making progress in the area of rule of law. Progress in dialogue and work with the aim of general normalisation of relations with Kosovo will be key to Serbia's progress in its EU membership process”, the Commission has said, broadcast Koha.net.
At the same time, European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijanciq has stressed that the year 2018 is a unique opportunity for Western Balkan countries to take irreversible steps on the road towards European integration.
