The state of the environment in Kosovo is very alarming. So said Environment Protection Agency chief Ilir Morina during the annual report to the Commission for Agriculture, Regional Development and Spatial Planning.

Morina said Kosovo citizens are living in contaminated and contaminated air.

Morina has shown that most people live near storehouses that are extremely dangerous.

Chief Morina presented the state of the environment for 2016 with the main findings from monitoring the agency's work. Next, he indicated that 577 visits have been carried out, 29 decisions for inspections, 530 recommendations and reports have been made, etc.

He also noted that great concern for the environment in our country represents air pollution, bringing about frequent overcoming of defined values. According to Morina, concern about the environment is the rising trend of uncontrolled exploitation of inerts from river beds and their destruction. Among other things, he mentioned the cause of a number of human diseases resulting from the pollution of our environment.

“As far as air quality is concerned, it is found that the most frequent excesses of limit values have been recorded for the PM10 and PM25 particles (in Pristina, Obilic and Drenas), while there have been cases of exceeded even for the limit values of Ozon. Similar pollution is presented during 2017, as in the same period of the years, because the resources are the same”, Morina said.

Commission members, in turn, posed a series of questions and raised concerns about environmental protection, such as pollution and no recycling of waste, as well as parking fees in Brezovica, severe agricultural conditions, water pollution, air loss from fuels, etc.

Morina, before the commission members, provided the necessary answers and clarifications.

At this meeting, the commission has approved the 2017 Work Report, as well as the 2017 Work Plan.
