Flight 26, which flew from Frankfurt, New York, to New York, landed at Steart Airport in New Windsor City 80 miles north of its destination, according to CNBC.
Manoel Gerlach, one of 325 passengers on the flight, told CNBC that travelers were able to leave the airport at 5: 00 a.m. using the stairs in the open air.
Because the plane was too large, travelers were forced at extreme temperatures to walk up to the terminal.
