In this way, the chief prosecutor has sought to clear up the crimes the Special Court will handle, which was founded to whiteen the first murders, during and after-war. So the murders that occurred in 1998-2000.
In December 2017, State Prosecutor Alexander Lumezi had announced that the Special Court had received a pile of files of crimes committed before, during and after the war.
We can't provide much information about which files were received by the Special Court in the State Prosecutor. I don't have any information on these cases, either, and the” files, Lumez said about RTK.
A month later, however, Lumez has sought to whiteen the crimes that the Special Court will handle. He has said prosecutors should whiteen the killings of pre-war public persons during and after the war.
“Finally Alexander Lumezi said the maximum commitment of all state prosecutors is expected in the fight against key challenges such as organised crime, high-level corruption, terrorism, war crimes, and, in particular, the uncontained killings of public figures before, during and after the fight”, the State Prosecutor's announcement said.
But, with the first crimes, during and after the war, the Special Court will be taken over. Its mandate is from the beginning of 1998 to the end of 2000. So, including the first time, the long and the postwar.
Meanwhile, for 19 years the justice system has failed to whitewash the murders committed before, during and after-war.
For this reason and because of a Swiss Senator's report, Dick Marty, the Special Court has been established, which will deal with the dawning of alleged crimes committed by members of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
The establishment of this trial had been supported by Hashim Thaci, along with the PDK, LDK and minorities.
Meanwhile, in recent days, Thaci is supporting an initiative by MPs to abolish the Special. But this initiative has not yet succeeded, since it has not been completed.
