“A success story” has been named the experience of Albanian immigrants in Italy, during a conference titled “inir Albanian <xx3>, attended by State Minister for Diaspora Pandeli Majko.
At the conference organised by the association”Ochio Blue” in co-operation with the Albanian Embassy in Rome, where officials and experts on immigration issues participated, Majko stressed the positive example the Albanian community represents in Italy.
“What has happened with Italy's Albanians may be considered one of the most successful immigration experiences in Eastern Europe”, Majko said, adding that young Arberes and immigrants have contributed to the creation of an extremely close relationship between Albania and Italy.
The minister briefed the panel over the quick steps being taken to provide even greater support to immigrants, both institutional and legal. Majko spoke on the debate on the right to vote on Albanians living abroad -- the issue, which, as he said, enjoys consensus on Albanian politics.
The minister also cited initiatives and efforts by the Ministry of Diaspora and the government to create facilities for Albanian immigrants worldwide.
Conference participants stopped by the successful stories of Albanians in Italy as a testimony to their full integration.
The conference also discussed the problems of our community there and the ways of overcoming them.
“Albanians in Italy, a successful immigration story”, was called the documentary shown in the course of the conference, which showed the route of our diaspora there.
