New Government to Deal With Unemployment Urgent

The large number of unemployed and lack of job creation by the country's institutions are meant to save Kosovo's 2014 exits -- a new trend of escapes occur again. Job creation and improving conditions for opening new businesses must be done by the government [...]
Job creation and improved conditions for opening new businesses must be done by the new Kosovo government. A good opportunity to create jobs is seen in the private sector.
The chairman of the Independent Union of Kosovo Trade Unions (BSPK), Haxhi Arifi, has said that the new government, which is expected to be formed, should create conditions for opening new jobs.
According to him, unemployment is large enough, and young people see opportunities for employment abroad.
“We like BSPK every time we've asked the government earlier, but we also ask the government which will be formed to improve conditions for job creation. Especially opportunities for job creation and increased employment are in the private sector”, Arifi said.
Don't start jobs, he says, make young people look for opportunities even abroad, even though these opportunities for employment abroad are quite difficult.
The head of BSPK has described the state of workers in the country as not good, but which, according to Arifi, is likely to improve.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Economics in Kosovo (OEAK), Arrian Zeka, has told the Telegrafi that the new government must take some steps to improve conditions for businesses and return hope to citizens. The new “government needs to deal with the continuation of fiscal reforms for creating conditions for the private sector to create jobs and restore citizens' hope for a living in Kosovo”, it has said.
According to Zeka, completion of the legal basis for fiscal package implementation 2 should be continued, which would affect improved conditions for the production sector and thereby create new jobs.
According to data from the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK), unemployment exceeds 30 per cent.
After the results of TM1 2017, the unemployment rate is 30.5%. The most pronounced unemployment is in women at 34.6 %, compared to men, 29.3%. The most pronounced unemployment rate is in 15-24-year-old groupings with 50.5%”, the ASS has announced.
