The RM government declared a state of emergency on the territory of Makedonski Brod and Chashka municipalities, where there are now several days of active fires, the MPB reported. Oliver Spasovski, who is also chairman of the governing committee for co-ordination and crisis management, said the state of emergency will last 10 days.
This decision has been announced at the government's tonight session. The decision has been made in order that competent institutions that more co-ordination and efficiently manage the situation because the next few days are expected high temperatures, and with that the possibility of fires increases. Spasovski stressed that this state of emergency is being declared not because the situation is out of control but because it needs co-ordination action.
With such decisions besides the Directorate for Salvation and Protection, other institutions with the aim of putting the situation under control will be put in place.
