His family through a statement has announced the death of their member.
“We have pain and pain of heart to announce that dear husband, father, grandfather, singer and legendary guitarist Glen Travis Campbell is dead at 81, after a long and bold battle with Alzheimer's disease”, says the statement of the deceased's family.
Publicist Sandy Brokaw confirmed that the singer died in Nashville on Tuesday morning.
Mr. Campbell's career followed for six decades and he sold more than 45 million songs marking a record, had 12 albums and 75 hits, The Independent” reported, the Periscope broadcast.
He played along with John Wayne in the “True Griet” of 1969, succeeded in television, and had a weekly audience of about 50 million people for the “Good Hour of Glen Campbell” in CBS in 1969-1972.
The legendary guitarist reported that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2011./Periscopi/
