20 per cent of citizens have stressed that they do not want their neighbours to be Muslims, despite their good integration into the countries they live in.

According to the survey, the level of concern about Islam is the highest in Austria (28 per cent) and the lowest in France (14 per cent).

Everywhere except in Great Britain, Muslims have difficulty finding a job in line with their qualifications, the foundation report said.

The second and third generation of Muslim families in Europe have very little knowledge of the country of origin, compared to once it reaches the EU.

According to the survey, about 94 per cent of Muslims interviewed said they felt connected to the country they live in.
