It was the military operation that returned from World War II.

Now, more than 70 years ago, these colorful photographs have been discovered by Canada's National Archives.

These photos show the daily battles of the Normandy War, the Periscope broadcast “Daily Mail”.

The operation, coded by the name “Overlord”, which had invaded this region, began on June 6, 1944, also known as “D-Day”.
