FEMactival organiser Adelina Hasani said public performance “Burrat Ironosin” aims to show that housework is a duty not only to women but also to men.
She added that with gender equality increased in private life, gender equality grows in public and political life.
Hasani: Femfact aims to challenge traditional gender roles
“The next public performance “Burrat Hecurosin” where through this performance it aims to challenge traditional gender roles, the division of housework in Kosovo is not done equally between women and men, in addition to that, men still continue to be perceived as obligations that belong only to women, so this public Femée performance aims to challenge traditional gender roles by giving the message that home affairs are due not only to women but also to men. Reaching gender equality in private life is necessary for achieving gender equality in political and public life, ending gender stereos”, Hasani said.
Meanwhile, the activist, Erroll Bilibani, who experienced the feeling of ironing, said he feels good to experience the sense of work women perform especially in the summer.
Biliban: The Feel of ironing
The feeling of a little bit of heat right now is giving you that feeling of what this daily job is about, the women who did it especially in summertime, but I ironed it out so from time to time so it's definitely being”, he said.
Bilibani further said feminism does not imply gender rights, but an equal society between genders.
