Mother Teresa founded the Missionarys of Charity, a Catholic religious congregation that in 2012 had more than 4,500 sisters and was active in 133 lands.
Mother Teresa is honoured with the highest awards and honours, including in 1962 the Ramon Magsaysey Peace Prize and 1979 the Nobel Peace Prize.
