The International Biennale of Contemporary Art “Auttostrada Biennal” has published the names of selected artists from the curator, Manrau HSU. The event will be held from 19 August to 23 September in Prizren.

The “theme, the future of borders”, has been chosen for the first edition, to courageously address notions of visible and unseen borders, and to convey the message of necessity to be a more life-saving collective society.

The future of “borders is intended to address phenomena that exist within the visible and invisible borders of society and individual. Since different languages and cultures influence the for-mats of individual behavior, the main role of art is to address diversity and identify the sources of various social impasses in order to pave the way for a more common collective life by softening social polarization.

The first edition of the Biennaal Highway will use Prizren's marvelous historical spaces in line with topics and forms developed in art works. The bus station and surrounding space will focus on issues of mobility, migration, national and ethnic borders.

Popular in the centre of the city will be several works related to city life, history and cultural diversity. Works will be found along the Lumbardah River in the Marash area, on hills and forts, regarding ruins, human-natural environments, and space beyond human borders. While the different positions of artists can hardly be limited to the simple spatial location in the city, they are also there to help redefine Prizren's topography through interaction with visitors.

The international exhibition will open on 19 August with performances and events and will continue with the organisation of the three-day conference and workers from August 20th to August 22nd.
