On the other hand, although the accused had sought a reduced trial through a defense attorney, Antoneta Lala claimed innocence by arguing that the actions he was charged with are merely expressions of parental love to the child, and that denouncing it is a sign of revenge against his ex-wife.
But in the end, Judge Erjon Bunny decided to accept the prosecution's request, convicting Denis Shimil of the charge of sexual harassment against minors.
