The nongovernmental organisation Germin organises virtual discussion on June 30th 2017 beginning at 5:00 (GMT+2) to discuss border security for exiles.
Each year, fellow countrymen who enter Kosovo's territory with foreign license plates must pay additional border insurance to their vehicles because Green Carton is not worth it in Kosovo. So, to open a broader debate on this subject, panelists will discuss how exiles see the border tax for vehicles, what can be changed in this direction? What are the options around border security, and who is taking advantage of the current situation?
This virtual meeting is realised under the Structurated Dialogue for the Rights of Diaspora initiative, which aims to establish co-operation between communities living abroad and institutions initially in Kosovo and create mechanisms for diaspora involvement in policymaking processes.
The meeting is public and can be followed directly to YouTube on June 30th 2017 starting at 5: 00 p.m. https://ww.youtbe.com/watch?v=rZyfJOqXVI.
This initiative is funded by the Swiss Office for Co-operation in Kosovo (SCO-K), the Danish Foreign Affairs Ministry (DANIDA) and managed by the Kosovar Civil Society Foundation (KCSF).
