Witness relates the moment of the murder of two Ramaj brothers

Mete Ramaj, head of the village of Shapiten, has testified today in the trial of killing two of Burim Ramaj's brothers in August last year.

Two fellow victims, Salih and Durim Lusaj, who are among them father and son, are charged with the murder.

Mete Ramaj was identified as witnessing the event after watching the road videos near the place where the incident had occurred.

The Witness Ramaj before the court said that both Lucaj and Ramaj both have good relations and family ties.

The first “is my brotherhood”, the witness said, until stressed that close family ties are with the families of the injured.

While asked by the prosecutor, Valbona Disha-Hajoya, witness Mete Ramaj was also asked about the problems Salih and Dervis Lusaj had had.

He said he had heard of their problem after he had gone to Dervis Lusaj to look for meetings about the problems Salih Lushaj has with him.

“Dervis has come three times to my house, and has also asked me to hold a meeting that he complained in Salih. And I said to Dervis: We're brothers solving these problems by myself, if you make the meeting at your house, I'm bound to come because for now I'm head of the village”, Mete Ramaj said.

He added that Dervis Lusaj had held a meeting for complaints he had had had against Salih Lusaj, and at that meeting Ramaj said he was present, but that he had not spoken at all.

The prosecutor then asked the witness about the incident where the two brothers, Rexhep and Burim Ramaj, were killed on August 28, 2016.

He said those moments were on their way home until he encountered the site where the double murder had occurred.

I was at my cousin's, Isuf Ramaj, with tea. Isufi has his home near where the event happened. Near the house of Rexhepi”, he said.

On the other hand, Mete Ramaj indicated that on the way to his home, he had encountered the moment Durim Lusaj had arrived with a gun in his hand.

I went to the door to go to my house, when I was out the door, I saw Salih's son, and he had the plaster in his hand. I ran and said, You're taking my fucking bath because this only brings trouble. Even now, this one has come up with me with ally. You didn't shoot me, but that's when you shot Rexhepi. Even when he fired at Rexhepi, Rexhepi fell down. As far as I know, Rexhepi has been trying to break in. Since there's been a shootout I don't know, but I saw Rexhepi drop down, and he told the witness at the time of the murder of one of Ramaj brothers.

Mete Ramaj said that thinking Rexhepi was injured, he had run towards his house to get the car to carry him to the hospital.

As he left the scene, the witness showed even when he saw him with a gun in his hand and the other accused, Salih Lushain, at the scene.

“Salih I've only seen by himself with The Source to fight, the other was, the left side, the wire. There was also Salih”, said Mete Ramaj.

Asked by the prosecutor whether any of the victims had anything in their hands, the witness said that Rexhepi and Burma were empty-handed.

He added that he had never seen anyone shoot again, because he was immediately on his way to get the car into his house until he said that a few yards after he left, he heard more gunshots.

After saying he had returned by car to the scene, the witness stressed that he had seen Burim Ramaj's Rexhepi lying on the ground.

Burim Ramaj said he had sent him with his car to Decani's ambulance, while Rexhepi said his cousin Rame Ramaj had sent him by car.

Salih Lusaj's lawyer several times asked the witness to describe the moment when she had seen Salih Lushaj fighting Burim Ramaj, but the witness said I cannot describe the moment because I cannot describe the second encounter.

Lawyer Kelmendi asked the witness who else had seen him instead of the event, while he said he had noticed Gani Ramaj and the minor A.R.

The Witness also faced video recordings of street cameras near the site of the event, and at one point he identified it only through his shoes as he headed toward the site of the Isuf Ramaj house event, where he was a guest.

The accused, Salih Lusaj, asked the witness whether he was present earlier at one of his hearings.

The Witness admitted that he had been at one of the initial sessions, while court members asked whether he had witnessed at the hearing where he was part of the public, the witness said no.

The Court of the Trial Against the Witness

Witness Mete Ramaj the court pronounced fines in many of the 300 euros because he showed no respect to the juro members while asking questions.

While he was sometimes admonished to show respect, the court made an offer to impose a 300-euro fine.

“This fine witness is obliged to pay in the 15-day term, under threat of turning to prison days. In this regard, a special decision will be issued that will describe the reasons for the” sentence was the act taken by the chairman of the court.

The prosecutor's withdrawal from witness testimony from Ramaj

Prosecutor Valbona Disha Hayjosa because she had understood from Ramaj family members that witness Rame Ramaj had been part of the public in this judicial review, she withdrew from the proposal.

Prosecutor Disa-Hajoaj said she is withdrawing from hearing this witness because he had been present in the courtroom until other witnesses were heard about the case.

The next sessions were assigned to be held on February 6 and 7, 2018.
