A Swedish investigation into immigrants seeking asylum for children shows that three-quarters of those tested were over 18.
Sweden's National Legal Medicine Agency checked the age of about 8,000 people and found that around 6,600 were 18 years old and older, Kosovo reports.
The checks were conducted only when there were doubts about the person's age.
Child miners are less likely to return to their country of origin.
Between mid-March and late October, the agency (Rätsmecialverket) conducted a total of 7,858 age estimates.
