A new research found that spiders could actually wipe out the human race in just one year if they wanted to.
The study found that, theoretically, if all spiders in the world were to get together, they would actually eat every human being on Earth for only one year.
As reported by The Washington Post, experts Martin Nyffeler of the University of Basel in Switzerland and Klaus Birkhofer from Lund University in Sweden published their findings in the Science of Nature newspaper earlier this year.
They found that world spiders eat between 400 million and 800 million tons of prey each year in total.
This means that they eat as much meat as all 7 billion people on earth together. In fact, we consume only 400 million tons of meat and fish each year, which means spiders often overtake us in this regard.
However, the really scary find is that from the general biomas of all adult people it is estimated to be about 316 million tons, which would be a “darica light” for spiders to eat us, since all of them together eat more every year, the Express broadcasts.
Scientists are not saying that spiders will suddenly attack and eat people because this is not in their biological nature, but if they did, they could really eat everyone.
