The recently discovered Greenland Shark is thought to have been around since before Shakespeare was born.

Greenland's shark may have been born about 1505.

Greenland's sharks are said to be older than ever, and scientists have said their age is up to 512 years, reports “Disclose.tv”, the Periscope broadcast.

Scientists took into account the size of the shark to determine the year it could have been born, and they estimated that it was born early in 1505.

Experts studying sharks measured the 18m length, and they used the radiocarbon meeting to put his age between 272 and 512.

This particular shark was the oldest of the entire shark group that has been analyzed by scientists during this particular study.

Scientists use the mathematical pattern of shark eyes to determine age.

Kim Prebel of Norway's Arctic University said that Greenland sharks can live for up to 400 years. However, recent research has suggested that species may be able to live much longer.

Marine biologist Julius Nielsen was among the people who found sharks and he said that the creature is extraordinary and is considered to be one of the oldest animals in the world.

Last year, an expert from Iceland University said biologists have tried for many decades to determine the age and life span of Greenland's sharks, but without much success.

Greenland's species are usually found in the deep - water Atlantic Ocean from Canada to Norway, and they often feed on the rotting remains of the polar bear./Periscopi/
