... On May 14, in order to find out what had happened to the frigate after we set up anchors, we entered the port of Vlora. At the entrance of this port from the northwest, there is an island - shaped mountain or rock called Saseno (Sazan). After lowering the sails, we shot several times with the cannons, which is common when entering the gate. At that moment, Emine, or customs chief, came out accompanied by some Muslims and other Jews, with whom talks were held on a flat carpet for them according to their customs...
