Rama vows not to act like Haradinaj: I promise you my salary won't grow

A decision Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj made, his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama, vows he will never do. While Haradinaj after spending 100 days as prime minister had raised his salary by 100%, Rama is considering it unfair for teachers to have the lowest salary [...]
Albania's prime minister, Rama, vowed today that his salaries will not increase until he is equated with teacher wages, because according to him this is unfair, Insander writes.
Albania's government chief hosted a meeting today on the occasion of last year's holiday, Albania's best teachers. In his speech ahead of them, he made the promise that all educators expect, continued wage increases.
At this point, Rama called it unfair that, as prime minister, there is higher salary than teachers, and said this gap would be reduced by raising their salary, and keeping their salary unchanged.
“We have in the programme further growth for teachers' salaries. The increase has come since the beginning of our first term, with the reduction of the pay tax. We'll continue to raise salaries for teachers. My salary is unjustly greater than yours. That's the difference. I promise you one thing, my salary won't grow, but yours will grow every year”, Rama promised.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had made a decision the day before where his salary totaled 2 thousand and 950 euros.
Haradinaj had given several reasons for raising his own salary. He said a prime minister with a salary of 1,000 or stealing or cheating.
Haradinaj had argued that as prime minister, he has to buy shirts and ties.
