On International Volunteering Day, thanks to all Kosovo volunteers, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has taken the initiative to establish the foundations of a system and create a more favourable environment for the development of volunteerism in Kosovo, making a decision to set up the team for drafting the concept-Document for the Law for Volunteerism.
The state must know more about the value of volunteerism in the country. In Kosovo, economic and social success can be possible if the government adopts policy, laws and regulations initiatives, which promote and reward voluntary activities”, Prime Minister Haradinaj said.
The office of Prime Minister/Office for Good Governance, with the support of the EU Technical Assistance Project, has conducted the study on volunteerism in Kosovo. To overcome all the challenges outlined in this report, solutions and practical opportunities from the State are required to take action on drafting and adopting the Law on Volunteerism.
The Law on Volunteerism will precede the concept-document that will:

Set special responsibilities to an institution that will oversee volunteerism,

Include the laws of God on high and high standards.
Set minimum standards and procedures for volunteerism and will
Set the right pattern of records for the identity of volunteers, contract models, certificates.
Continuing quality standards in volunteerism can only be achieved if they are developed in parallel with stronger infrastructure and with supporters of volunteerism.
The prime minister's office for Good Governance and the Legal Office in full co-ordination with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Labour and Social Management, the Ministry of Public Administration and other institutions responsible for this area will assume this responsibility for drafting and finalising this document.
