KA LLXO.com learns that the presidency has recently requested data verification for several prisoners including three convicts in the Hajra case.
The list of prisoners for which the president has asked for forgiveness information is Burim and Arsim Ramadani and Arben Kicina.
“Based on a presidency request we have submitted a list of 10 to 15 people”, prison director Sokol Zogaj said.
He has explained that they have no information if we consider the requests for forgiveness occur these days.
The source of Arsim Ramadani and Arben, Blerim and Jeton Kicina had been found guilty by the District Court and the Supreme Court of killing five members of the Hajra family in 2001.
Ardian Arifaj of the presidency questioned on the matter said that only tomorrow we can provide them with information, but this is a commission issue.
Arifaj gave no information if the president is planning any round of pardons.
One of the members of this commission, President of the Appeals Court Hasan Shala, has confirmed KALLXO.com that the presidency's commission to handle the apology requirements has gathered today and is expected to be on the ground tomorrow to address this list.
I can't still talk to names because they're confidential things. The commission has not yet given recommendations for the list from somewhere around 15 persons”, Shala said.
He has confirmed that the commission will meet on Friday to address the requirements.
The case “Kiqina” is known as one of the longest criminal cases in Kosovo with 107 court reviews was only tried at the District Court in Gjilan.
The case has gone through all steps of all domestic courts, including the Constitutional Court.
On August 20, 2001, Hamez Hajra, his wife Medjadi, his son Jevdetti, and his daughters Mimoza and Adelaina were killed on a street in the middle of the village of Baica and Trstenik in the Drensian municipality, as they returned from a wedding to their home in Glogovac (Drenas), it is said in court.
The convicts of this ongoing case have promoted their innocence, claiming the case was mounted against them.
