The cold and lack of sunlight did not prevent Christmas worshipers from being stripped off as far as bikin and Santa's hoods on Australia's Bond Beach.

Coastal guards even decorated a Christmas tree to create a festive atmosphere for those who convert the beach to their home throughout the day. Christmas Day is one of the most acute for lifeguards on the beach, ready for people who may not even be very familiar with surf conditions or who may have had a lot of drinks the night before.

There's been more people drinking than they should have had the night before and we need to intervene many times to escape. Last year we performed about 70 rescues on Christmas Day, and among them were tourists who had never been on our beach before, but local ones who did not understand their borders sometimes”, says one of the guards.

And in Florida, 837 fathers - dressed surfers faced waves for a good cause. Event organisers at Cocoa Beach said over 10,000 spectators had attended the race and 295 thousand euros had been collected for two non-profit local organisations: “Grind for life” helping people affected by cancer and the Florida Surf Museum.

Surfers tried to break the Guinness record for the number of surfers in a wave, but unfortunately, this year, the waves were small. And instead of roaming through the snow, through the suburbs of Washington DC, the sata and her elfs wore water skis on the Potomac River in an annual tradition dating back to 1986.

A tape of character escorts, including Greenchi, were performing spectacular spins in freezing waters and throwing candy at the crowds.
