Trump congratulates Albanians for 28 November

The presidency of the Republic of Albania reports that President Ilir Meta has received a message of congratulations from United States President Donald Trump.

The following is the full letter Meta received from Trumop.

Dear Mr. President,

While you celebrate the 105th anniversary of Independence on November 28th, the people of the United States join me in praying for the Albanian people. On this day we confirm our strong friendship and devotion to Albania, and we expect to further strengthen that relationship over the years to come.

Our two nations have developed deep cooperation that has allowed us to work together to address issues of global importance. We thank you for your role as a crucial partner in promoting regional sustainability and fighting extremism as well as your support around the world as an Allied NATO and a member of the ISIS Destruction Coalition.

This year we welcomed Albania's implementation of key justice reforms, which have brought the country closer to the goal of entering the European Union and greater regional co-operation. We praise the progress Albania has marked in terms of Euro-Atlantic integration and peace security and prosperity for all Albanians.

We are with you as you celebrate this special day and wish you and the Albanian people all the best in the next year!
