Specialised rooms are fully focused on executing their mandate and will continue the work regardless of external developments. So has Avis Benes, spokeswoman for Specialised Chambers, not commenting on President Hashim Thaci's recent charges against the Court.
She has confirmed to the paper that specialised rooms are already fully functional, but the Special Prosecutor must file charges.
This year's “since July 5th, when order of procedure and testing has entered into force, the Specialised Chambers are fully functional, so the Specialised Chambers are able to accept and prosecute judicial files, such as those related to charges of indictment. However, it is mandatory for the Special Prosecutor to file charges”, Benes has confirmed.
spokeswoman Benes, however, says she cannot speculate about the time when the first charges will arise, since this is in the Special Prosecutor's hand.
