The funds have been earmarked, among other things, to strengthen links between the civil, private and public sector, reports “Sputnik”
The future beneficiaries should be organised in two ways: “strengthening the legal base for helping, increased public awareness and participation in various forms of assistance”.
The document stresses that despite the positive dynamic development of assistance delivery in Serbia, problems remain to be addressed through the distribution of grants. The programme operator will be the Agency's regional office in Kosovo.
In the opinion of some experts, the Agency's initiative is only a cover for the lobby in favour of US interests in Belgrade, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcasts.
Policy scientist Alexandr Asafov said these grants should be taken into account politically, and that Serbia's choice in this case is not random.
Asafov noted that Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has repeatedly stated that he intends to continue co-operation with Russia, which cannot prevent Americans.
It is true that these actions are related to Serbia's lack of interest in following the US vector. Behind the aid delivery mask, as well as the spread of democratic values and participation in human rights protection are concealed in the aim of financing the Serbian opposition. It is an effort to give more assistance to civil society, to be a strong opposition to Serbian authorities,”, the Russian expert said./Periscopi/
