She made these comments at the Western Balkans' summit on environment and climate change, which is being held in Bonn, Germany, organised by the Regional Co-operation Council (RCC).
Reshimaj said Kosovo is committed to creating a clean environment by reducing greenhouse effects and thanks to commitments compared to other European countries, it has relatively lower gas emissions per head.
Our “state will slow down increasing greenhouse gas emissions through increased energy efficiency in all sectors; investment in renewable energy sources; and sustainable use of its natural resources”, she said.
Participants at this meeting adopted the declaration on environment and climate action in the Western Balkans, agreeing on the need for co-operation among countries to improve the co-ordination of existing regional initiatives and projects, as well as those to be held to serve the goals of the Southeast European Strategy 2020.
By contrast, until now Kosovo differs from other states, at these meetings is represented only by administrative staff and not by the Ministry of Environment, and now is the first time our state is represented by a minister as an independent state.
