The director of the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies, Florian Qehaja, stressed that from declaring the independence of the Republic of Kosovo until now there have been more incidents of political rather than religious character.
He made this statement during the release of the report, titled “Endorsing Risks in Kosovo since the 2008 declaration of independence. June 2017”, organised by the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies under the programme to prevent violent extremism in Kosovo.
Qehaja, as RTK broadcasts, also said the biggest challenge in this project has had in identifying incidents in Kosovo.
We have installed all terrorist extremist incidents that have occurred on our territory since Kosovo's declaration of independence. We had the biggest challenge of identifying incidents in the nine-year period, then dividing the character of the incident as political or religious. We've had more incidents of political character than religious”, Qehaja said.
