Kumanovo case, lawyer shows what Zoran Zaev promised

As for the compensation of four already released persons, Raufi said this compensation would be required even though they are extremely low. Meanwhile, as far as the international investigation is concerned about the case, it expects its realisation even in practice. Six days after the Criminal Court issued the final verdict in the case of “Kumanovo Group”, while the 4 innocent prisoners were released, defence lawyer Naser Raufi says those who have been sentenced as assistants should also be on the loose because the sentences are large and baseless”.
Besnik Aydin, Fazli Osmani, Besnik Bajrami and Ibrahim Murtezani were recently released from the Shutka prison, while to others, he received a record of 746 years, 7 through which life in prison.
“think that all the accused, as assistant or logistics in the case, will be released, not just four people. What has been done by law is release these 4 people, and all these sentences they gave them have been extreme and baseless --”, it says, MEDAL.mk, Rauffy.
As for the compensation Raufi said this compensation will be sought on the part of those already released, but that no stage has yet been reached for prosecution or demand, as the request first goes to the Ministry of Justice, then to other judicial instances.
He says that in Macedonia these types of compensation are extremely low, with minimum payments, but hoping that with court reforms in the future there will be equivalent compensation.
For the recent international investigation into the opinion as a hope of escaping the high sentences of the accused, lawyer Raufi says he has received a long-term promise from the Justice and Government Minister and is convinced that it will be realised in practice.
This promise is over time, by the Justice Minister, from the Commission for Reform near Government. I think this is gonna happen practically. For us as a protective side is enough to have an investigation, we have only advisers from abroad or experts who will declare the truth in this case. I think the international orientation should be in the expertise, so this case can take a course like this. There can be no talk of terrorism or terrorist organisation, I am convinced that they are freedom fighters for human rights and I think that the dynamics of time will prove this”, Raufi said further.
He also stresses that from a meeting he had with Prime Minister Zaev, the latter has promised the full dawn of this case, as he himself possesses evidence that it is the scenario of the secret services where for a very short period of time this evidence will be presented.
I think that the situation with the changes in the judiciary and the prosecution itself, perhaps there are reasons that so far has not presented evidence. I think that with the election of Macedonia's public prosecutor, the implementation procedure for this case will also be initiated”, Raufi highlights.
Otherwise, the Skopje Criminal Court, on October 29th, pronounced life sentence for 7 persons of the “Kumanovo Group”, 13 of them have been sentenced to 40 years of freedom removal, 6 persons received 20 years in prison, while others were sentenced to prison from 12 to 18 years.
