Kosovo journalist (Photo) is attacked, threatened and offended

Taulant Osmani has been threatened, offended and attempted to be attacked by several people while attending the civil society protest in Gjilan against the shift of the National Liberation War September “Rame soldiers”.

Journalist Osmani said he was recording a debate between those who were protesting the shift and those who were in favor of it, when one of the involved in the debate threatened why he was recording, while two others tried to attack him and take the phone.

I'm as a journalist to present that citizens are divided as to this problem, I start to record their present debate, and the person in question reacts sharply, tries to run around with the words why they're shooting. At that moment, there were two other people who pushed me, cursed me, and caught my phone”, Taulant Osmani said.

Osman indicated that if other citizens were not to intervene, I do not know what would happen.

If citizens were not able to get into the middle, I don't know what had to happen”, Osmani said.

He, the threat and attempted attack on him today, has also put him on the police force.

From January to half of October this year in Kosovo, 23 cases related to attacks and other acts against journalists have occurred.
